Who we are

TBA started in 1954 originally called The Basildon Industrial Group (BIG). Initiated by Basildon Development Corporation; the group was formed by major companies in the Pipps Hill Area of Basildon.

In 1990, the businesses of Basildon went through a transition towards the service industry, moving away from manufacturing. It was therefore decided to drop the "Industrial" from the title and The Business Association was formed (TBA) and continues to this day -The Business Association of Basildon and District being the full title.

The organisation originally catered for businesses in Basildon and the surrounding area (and this remains the focus area), though the current membership extends as far as Southend; Benfleet; Brentwood; Wickford; Billericay to name but a few.

The TBA welcomes all types of business from the self employed, through to the largest employer in Basildon encompassing many sectors of business from accountancy; banks, solicitors, printers, web design, security, business consultancy; IFA's; office accommodation through to car manufacturers and with every business type in between.
